It is always a great pleasure to make a diversion to Villa Pasqui for a chat with Maria Elena Pasqui. She is the owner of the splendid Villa, which is unique and just over 3 km from the historic centre of Città di Castello. The structure is surrounded by greenery in a centuries-old park that overlooks the Valtiberina landscape. The atmosphere you breathe as soon as you reach the hill is truly special; in fact, you find yourself reliving the atmosphere of times gone by.
The project for the Villa took shape in the mid-19th century and it took more than 20 years to see Giuseppe Pasqui's dream completed. The result: a splendid example of Florentine Art Nouveau realized with fine materials.
Today, Villa Pasqui hosts major events and fairytale weddings. It lends itself to many different solutions depending on the type of event one wishes to hold. In the lower garden under the Bastion, we find an area that is perfect for organizing weddings with a small number of guests (about 20 to 80 people). Maria Elena tells us that the Casina delle Civette hosts civil or symbolic weddings, but what is most interesting, she tells us, is that this is also a branch of the municipality of Città di Castello for civil ceremonies. This makes it easier for the bride and groom who choose a civil wedding and therefore have no need to stop by the Municipality of Città di Castello. Before the ceremony on the lawn in front of the venue, a small welcome aperitif can be proposed, while the reception will always take place on the lawn if the weather permits; or in the beautiful halls of the Limonaia.
Maria Elena - with her smile that wins us over as soon as we start talking to her about weddings - tells us how the more intimate and restrained ones are a great success: nature; colors; fragrances; a certain intimacy for the ceremony; while the reception and dancing evening can go on until late at night.
As a whole, Villa Pasqui is versatile: gardens, halls and large spaces for more than sumptuous weddings; smaller but equally beautiful spaces for something more intimate. It's hard to leave Maria Elena in this little piece of paradise among its borders of purple irises, but we'll be back to visit again soon!
