For a few unforgettable days, the medieval village of Anghiari became the stage for a celebration that beautifully combined international elegance with the authentic spirit of Italy. An event that embraced the entire village, transforming it into an enchanting setting for the union of Alexandre Birman and Alexandra Benenti.
Alexandre Birman, the Brazilian entrepreneur behind the renowned luxury footwear brand that bears his name and Chairman of Arezzo&Co, together with Alexandra Benenti, chose Anghiari as the setting for their wedding. Listed among Italy's Most Beautiful Villages, Anghiari captivated the couple with its timeless charm, rich history and authentic Tuscan character.
The credit for this choice belongs to an entire community and, above all, to the local administration. As Ilaria Lorenzini, Advisor for Tourism, explains, everything began thanks to the recommendation of a trusted friend from Arezzo, who introduced the couple to some of Tuscany's most enchanting villages. Their visit to Anghiari became decisive. Guided by Ilaria Lorenzini, the couple explored the village, discovering its history, beauty and authentic character, until they knew they had found the perfect place to celebrate their wedding.
From the very beginning, Alexandre and Alexandra expressed one clear wish: to involve as many local artisans and businesses as possible. It was a decision that transformed the celebration into a shared project and a meaningful opportunity for the local community. Among those who contributed were Giardini del Vicario, the renowned restaurant Da Alighiero, the historic Tessitura Busatti, which created the bespoke table linens and fabrics, Il Pizzicagnolo, Bistrot Talozzi, fashion designer Armida Kim, who perfected the bride's and groom's wedding attire, the Anghiari Choir and Orchestra with soprano Noemi Umani, the Teatro di Anghiari, together with florists, gardeners, caterers and many other local professionals. This is perhaps the most beautiful part of the story: when a wedding is celebrated with genuine respect for the place that hosts it, it becomes a celebration for an entire community. One particularly thoughtful gesture was Alexandre Birman's gift to all the ladies attending the wedding: a pair of elegant flat sandals from his own collection, allowing everyone to dance comfortably well into the night.
Around 150 guests attended the celebrations, including some eighty of Brazil's leading entrepreneurs. Dinner was served along the village's main street, where one spectacular imperial table stretched between the historic stone buildings, creating an atmosphere of extraordinary elegance. Nearby, Via di Ronda was illuminated by hundreds of candles, adding an intimate, almost timeless ambience to an already unforgettable evening.
There is only one word that says it all: pure enchantment.
This celebration perfectly illustrates how a destination wedding can become far more than a private event. It is an authentic experience that celebrates a destination, its craftsmanship and the people who make it unique. This is the true essence of Italy: places that are not simply a backdrop for a wedding, but become an integral part of the story itself, leaving lasting memories for the couple, their guests and the community that welcomes them.
